Vintage Heyco nautical table lamp with green glass lens and illustrated shade.

Lighting manufacturers in the United States made decorative novelty lamps like this one during the mid-20th century, drawing inspiration from maritime traditions. They were produced to capitalize on the post-Second World War popularity of nautical decoration for domestic interiors, especially in coastal regions and suburban recreation rooms.

Homeowners placed these lamps on side tables in living rooms, dens, or bedrooms decorated in rustic or nautical themes to provide warm ambient illumination. Their popularity declined as interior design tastes shifted toward minimalist modern aesthetics in the later decades of the century, turning them into nostalgic decorative objects.

Product Grade. B (vintage, has some wear but in good shape)
